If you look at fuel prices, it appears rather obvious that it is no longer up-to-date to heat our homes or swimming pools with fossil fuels, such as heating oil, propane gas or even electricity.
Not only the impact on our environment and global climate is considerable, the world reserves of fossil fuels are limited and can only be exploited by increasing costs. Thus, our children or grandchildren will no longer be able to heat with fossil fuels as we did until now.
Recent plans regarding off-shore oil exploration betweeen Valencia and Ibiza show us how desperate and stubborn mankind became in order to look for those "old-fashioned" sources of energy. Negative impacts on marine wildlife and the potential damage to the coast lines and thus tourism, seem to be tolerable.
However, preconditions for the use of renewable energies, in particular solar energy, are excellent in Spain. The graph shows us that through Costa Blanca the 1.700 isoline is running, meaning that the sun provides a radiation of 1.700 kWh/m²/year! That is equivalent to 170 liters of fuel oil per square meter per year! An enormous amount of energy.
It is up to you to TAKE IT ... or leave it!
